Acceleration (Centrifuge) Testing

Acceleration, its the key component of F=ma that helps us escape earth's atmosphere during a rocket launch, its what adrenaline junkies and race car drivers live for, its the very thing that keeps us planted on planet earth (gravitational acceleration).

Acceleration can do bad things to poorly designed systems, parts, and components, which is why acceleration testing is an important test to qualify and validate systems and parts that are subjected to high levels or acceleration.

In this video, we will learn about the physics and application of acceleration testing and one of the most powerful (And Potentially dangerous if misused) pieces of test equipment that is used in validation testing heavily in Aerospace and Military applications: The Centrifuge.

Centrifuges are used in many different industries and have many different applications including chemistry, medical, aerospace, military, pilot training, and even house hold applications such as a washing machine.
